Hello everyone, we are very excited to invite you to our fun deers calling event in Nara/Osaka !!!

[Date] December 2nd Monday, 9:30 am~11:30 pm.
[Location] Kintetsu Nara Station Nara/ Osaka
[Expected Number of participants] 4~6 Japanese families and international families.
[Languages] English and Japanese.

Hi, everyone! 
I think everyone knows about the deer in Nara Park but did you know about shikayose (鹿寄せ)/'deer calling'?
Please join us for this winter tradition since 1892 as we watch the deer come stampeding from the surrounding mountain/forest at the sound of Beethoven’s 6th Symphony played on a natural horn and are fed acorns by volunteers. If you have any acorns please bring them.

We will meet just outside the east ticket gate at Kintetsu Nara station around 9:30 and walk to the Shikayose site which will start at 10 am. It only lasts about 15 minutes so we do NOT want to be late. If you’re coming by car please find your own parking and meet us directly at the Shikayose site before 10 am.

Afterward, we will walk to Ukimido and hopefully still enjoy the red leaves and more deer.

For lunch we can decide among the participants (maybe a week before) to bring a bento or go to a restaurant/cafe.
After lunch we will go to the Naramachi Karakuri Toy Museum where we can play with toys that children played with during the Edo period.
