Program Overview

Dates: May 23–27, 2026
Age: 6–15 years old
Group Size: Max 10 children
Price: $500USD per child

Join us for a unique 5-day cultural experience in Japan, where children can connect with local kids, explore traditional culture, and create unforgettable memories.

Before the program, children will meet and connect with local Japanese kids online.
After the experience, they can continue their friendship as pen pals with their new friends in Japan.

All sessions are held for approximately 4~6 hours each day, followed by free time.

Daily Experiences

(The schedule of activities may change due to weather or other conditions.)

 

Day 1 (May 23, Sat) | 12:00~

We’ll play some traditional Japanese games with local kids, and you’ll also get to write your name in kanji using calligraphy. The local kids will explain the meanings of the characters!

Day 2 (May 24, Sun) | 12:00~

Yoga session with a professional instructor + light hiking with local kids

Day 3 (May 25, Mon) | 12:00~

Kid-friendly tea ceremony with a professional tea master
📍 Temple (Fudoin), Takarazuka, Hyogo

Visit The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum
📍 Takarazuka, Hyogo

   


Day 4 (May 26, Tue) | 12:00~

Wagashi (Japanese sweets) making with a professional artisan
📍 Cooking Room in Nara

Play with deer at Nara Park and visit Todaiji Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Day 5 (May 27, Wed) | From 3:00 PM~

Ninja experience & origami making at a dojo
📍 Dojo (Daishin), Osaka

Each family will visit a different local Japanese family’s home for a cooking and dining experience.
Your host family will have children around the same age as your child.
You’ll cook and share dinner together, and dinner for your whole family is included.

Program Details

Parents are welcome to join, or you can bring your child to the location and drop them off—either option is fine.

What’s included in the program fee:

  • Pre-program online meet-up with local Japanese children
  • Activity costs during the program
  • Admission to the Tezuka Osamu Museum
  • Admission to Todaiji Temple in Nara
  • Final day dinner (Dinner on the final day is provided for the whole family)

What’s not included:

  • Transportation to and from the location
  • Accommodation
  • Meals (except for the final day dinner)
  • Insurance

 


Optional Experiences

Judo Lesson

Join a local judo practice at a traditional dojo with over 50 years of history.
Beginners are welcome, and judo uniforms are available for rent.

Monday
6:00–7:00 PM (Kids Class)
7:00–8:30 PM (Adults Class)

$60 per person

  

Kimono & Photoshooting (for mothers)

Enjoy wearing a traditional kimono at the temple, along with a professional photoshoot.
$200 per person


 

Safety & Responsibility

We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
However, children are responsible for their own safety during the program.

By joining this experience, you acknowledge that Global Family to Family and the host family are not liable for any injuries, accidents, loss, or damage that may occur during the program.



Cancellation Policy

• Full refund for cancellations made at least 1 month before the program start date
• Cancellations within 1 month of the program are non-refundable
